Whether using a contract crew or doing the work yourself, register to participate and follow the pile standards. Piles must be ready by May 31.

Chipping

Register & Reduce Fuels

Chipping

A Mount Adams Resource Stewards trained crew will spend no more than 45 minutes at each property to chip piles on-site. Landowners do not need to be available, though are welcome.

Following piling standards increases safety and efficiency.

Reduce Fire Risk on Your Property

Spring is a great time to reduce fire risk on your property!

The Lyle Community Council, in partnership with the Lyle Fire Department and with support from the Washington Department of Natural Resources, is offering a free mobile chipping opportunity to reduce fire risk and spread for those who live in the Lyle Fire District.

This event will help people reduce wildfire hazards around buildings and driveways by removing small trees, limbs and brush which could otherwise fuel fires. Appointments are limited so register while supplies last.

This opportunity is provided free of charge, however donations are welcomed to allow for future Lyle Community Council events.

To participate, property owners in the Lyle Fire District must register by May 31, 2025 and have piles ready by June 1 for chipping on June 4.

Learn more about wildfire risk reduction via the Lyle Fire Department.

· No logs less than 48 inches in length

· No vines smaller than pinky finger

· Each pile no taller than 4 feet in height

· All cut ends facing the road and neatly stacked

· Chips will be left on-site
